Revealing a Tasty Lobster Affair

Bulky and pulpy lobsters have always interested me since I was a kid. Being a resident of Maine, I have seen how fishermen here take careful steps to pick the world’s most coveted shellfish. If I am asked to vote on lobsters I would definitely give Maine picks a 10/10. Now, you must be thinking that I am like any other partial guy. Well!! Let me clear your assumptions first. Maine lobsters are the world’s favorite; they are tastiest and also the fleshiest. Being a Maine guy, I should first of all clarify the reason for Maine picks to taste better than others.

Apart from being fleshy and healthy, Maine lobsters are one step up when it comes to comparing their taste with the spiny counter-parts. If you ask me then, I will say that meat extracted from Maine picks taste a bit sweeter. The great taste of Maine lobsters has evolved from its habitat; the chilled and dark Atlantic waters. A majority of restaurants are selling seafood delicacies to offer gourmands the opportunity to taste the much flavorful Maine picks. Though a bit pricy, I will personally suggest you to not compromise on its rich taste, even if it costs a few more bucks.

Well!! That doesn’t mean you will have to bear up extra costs every time you want to have lobsters. How about preparing them at home? Yes, this will help you save at least 40% of the dining bill. There are actually some innovative seafood dinner ideas with lobster tails, which you can try in your own kitchen; I can share a couple of them with you:

Firstly let us go simple with baked lobster tails:

  • Pre-heat oven at 350 degrees
  • Use a knife to cut the tail in halves
  • Spread an aluminum foil
  • Place lobster tails with the shell facing downwards
  • Drizzle molten butter on the tails
  • Squeeze lemon extracts on the tails
  • Add kosher salt and pepper for flavor
  • Spread another aluminum foil on the tails
  • Place the entire thing inside an oven and bake for 20 minutes

For a detailed process you can consider barbeque chili Maine lobster

  • Raw lobster tails, 6
  • Finely chopped red chili pepper
  • Fish sauce (Thai), 2 teaspoon
  • Finely chopped coriander
  • Sesame oil, 2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil, 1 tablespoon
  • Lime juice
  • Honey, 2 tablespoon
  • Cumin, 2 teaspoon

For the marinade: first of all, take a bowl and mix all ingredients in it. Place lobster tails on a plate and pour the marinade over them. Now cover the entire thing and place it in the refrigerator. Take out the plate from the refrigerator 60 minutes later. Leave it for some time. Next, place Maine lobster tails on a moderately high barbeque. Cook each side for 5 minutes. The lobster tails should reveal a red hue; which means they are done.

Maine lobsters- The benchmark For Quality Seafood

Maine lobsters have been my favorite since childhood. In fact Mom had once told me that those picked from the coasts of Maine taste the best. Any guess? I was too little to understand these big secrets. So, when I grew up I asked Mommy about Maine lobsters and how they have managed to get good points. She told me that one of the main reasons Portland lobsters are a hot favorite among foodies, is that these shellfish usually taste better than those picked from other parts of the world.

Since decades fishermen have been harvesting this special breed of lobster that boast of huge fleshy claws and thick tails. I was literally surprised to learn lobsters were once considered a sign of poverty; only poor people were found to have these shellfish. Strongly a part of the crustacean family, Maine lobsters take pride in revealing a delectable taste.

Now I find Maine picks served at some of the finest restaurants of the world. Generally a lobster meal will cost me more than the one comprising meat and vegetables. Since I am used to having Maine lobsters, it is quite obvious for me to opt out the spiny crustaceans that come for a cheaper price. Before I order for the menu, I ensure that the restaurant serves me with succulent Maine lobster meat. The moment I find some other breed, my mood instantly turns off.

Since my mom is a pure Mainer, she knows how folks would work hard for the best catch. She has told me, that after noticing a growth in demand for cold water crustaceans, the harvesters started implementing innovative technologies for quality catch. Even today, the fishermen use a specific vessel comprising a tank filled with seawater, to ship live Maine lobsters.

Such methods are highly in practice; the water in the tank helps sustain life of the crustaceans. Today, lobster meat is sold in cans; the meat is generally treated with preservatives to stay fresh for an extended period. Personally I will suggest everyone to buy live lobsters, which taste more delicious than other breeds of the same kind.

The changes in lobster harvesting patterns have ultimately contributed to the popularity of Maine lobsters which are currently ruling the menu of some of the finest food joints and restaurants on earth. I have even learnt from my friend, who is a resident of Maine, that nowadays, the fishermen are implementing combined techniques to get the perfect catch. The fishing folks generally catch the shellfish with the help of traps and haulers.

Since I don’t have much time to visit the market and pick fresh lobsters, I generally buy Maine lobsters online. In fact I am not the only one to purchase Maine picks through this short-cut route; there are hundreds or you can say thousands of buyers who switch online to opt for a convenient buy.

Simple yet Yummy Seafood Ideas for You

Seafood was never my cup of tea until Mom had asked me to prepare some of them. Oh no!! I was so disgusted with these slimy sea-creatures that I had to directly refuse her. She started scolding me and had said that there was no way to escape the horror. Horror? Now, many of you must be thinking that I am some kind of a crazy person who has little knowledge about seafood and how they tend to taste.

Actually I admit of being little crazy at that point of time. Well!! This was mainly because I was bit inclined towards beef, bacon and turkey… I had tried them in the kitchen but had rarely handled lobsters, crabs, shrimps, prawns, mussels and clams.

Now, let us come to the point where my culinary experience with seafood had begun. I was busy obeying mom’s instructions and later on when I completed my cooking I had to taste them. Guess what? I had once again discovered my culinary skills.
